Eye to eye with great whites in the world's shark capital
Gansbaai is the undisputed great white capital of the planet, and this is the most adrenaline-charged half-day in the Cape. We collect you early from your hotel, transfer privately to the harbour, and brief you with the marine biologist on board. From the boat at Shark Alley you descend in a secure surface cage - no scuba certification, no swimming skills required, just a wetsuit and a deep breath. Most guests have multiple eye-to-eye encounters with great whites; copper sharks and bronze whalers are common too. Back on land we lunch at the harbour before transferring back to Cape Town.
